History can be fun for kids when it’s explained in a way that children understand. It can be difficult for them to comprehend the severity of some of the things that our great grandparents had to suffer. Teaching Children About War Days
However it is important that we teach our kids history. There are lots of ways to teach kids about history. Whether it be a visit to a museum or reading some books. There are some great books available for kids of all ages. Some fact & some fiction which brings war time to life.
Research
Work sheets are a great tool to get children learning. Children that are old enough to read on their own are able to do research. My son will read up on a subject and then I usually quiz him to see how much he took in.
These printable work sheets are a simple way to learn about World War 1 and World War 2. They break down the facts about what life was like during the war.
With some visuals of how life was for families that lived through that period, children can get an idea of how difficult things were back then. They may also have grandparents or great grandparents that they can speak to about the war days.
