Gingerbread Cookies

How to make tasty gingerbread cookies. Great easy recipe to do around christmas time. Nice little gift to give to friends and family.

Ingredients
  

  • 2.5 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 3/4 Cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Ground Ginger
  • 1/2 Tsp Nutmeg
  • 2 Tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 Cup Molasses
  • 3/4 Cups Unsalted Butter
  • Icing/Icing Scribblers
  • Candy/Sweet Treats

Equipment

  • Mixer/Bowl with Whisk
  • Rolling Pin
  • 1-2 Gingerbread Cookie Cutters
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Measuring Cups

Method
 

  1. Set the oven to 350F
  2. Mix together flour, baking soda & baking powder
  3. Melt butter, and add sugar, salt, spices and molasses
  4. Add egg and mix well
  5. Add flour and other dry ingredients
  6. Mix on medium/low until dough is formed. Dough will be slightly sticky.
  7. Divide dough into two parts. Wrap with cling film and set in fridge for 1 hour.
  8. Once dough has been chilled, roll out using rolling pin to 1/2" thickness.
  9. Use cookie cutter to make gingerbread shapes.
  10. Place on a foiled baking tray in the oven for 14-18 minutes. Cookies will turn slightly brown at edges.
  11. Set cookies aside to cool down completely.
  12. Decorate your cookies.
