Pumpkin Template!
You can pre-cut the templates if you have lots of children. However most children like to be able to do this part on their own. Some find it easier than others and templates can be tricky to cut out. However it is always good to give children the independence to do these tasks by themselves.
The mouth for your pumpkin can be any shape or size you want. However try to have your child cut a decent size mouth as they will need space for teeth.
Same goes for the pumpkins eyes. There is an inside part and outside part. The black circle will generally be smaller than the white. However this is your child’s pumpkin and the beauty of doing these child led crafts is that there is no right or wrong way. So your child can go to town making their smiley pumpkin how they want it.
Adding Extras!
These smiley pumpkins can have all kinds of extra details if your child wants to get more creative. You can cut out a triangle and give it a nose. The eyes can also be a different shape. You can give them markers and have them draw on rosy cheeks. Basically their smiley pumpkin can be however they want it to be. It’s all about getting creative!

Of course you don’t need to use our template for your pumpkins. We have had larger paper to work with before. So the kids would draw a large circle and cut that out to make a bigger pumpkin. The template is just for your convenience. 😉
