After my daughter made her clothes peg fairies she really wanted somewhere for them to live/sleep. So we made a secret fairy garden where they could hang out lol.

We got a cardboard box. Any box will do even a shoe box it doesn’t have to be big. Then cut off 2 side of the flaps that close the box like pictured..

Two sides cut off will make it easier to fasten

Gather up some ‘garden’ items such as fake grass, fake flowers and rocks. Anything you can imagine a garden would have in it. This part can be fun for the kids too. My daughter went hunting around the house for items that we could use.

The ‘grass’ is from our local dollar store for decorative use only and it does have a sticky background but we still secured it in place with hot glue. You can probably pick this up from craft stores too, maybe even garden stores.

My daughter covered the outside of the box with glue and we pre-cut some patterned paper to size for her to cover the box with. She also lay the ‘grass’ down inside the box.

We made sure we glued the bottom parts of the box down so that it wouldn’t jump up and push the grass up.

E enjoyed putting the grass and flowers in and even added a little sofa from her dolls house for them to sit on 🥰

Keeping It Secure

In order for it to be a ‘secret’ box we added a button on each side and an elastic band to close it. Something simple enough that little fingers can open and close themselves.

You can always glue one side of the band so that they can’t take it off. We jazzed it up a little and added some shiny tape just for decoration. It turned out really cute and my daughter was so happy with it. Now her fairies have a home to sleep in. ❤️

Fairy Garden Complete

Now our secret fairy garden is finished my daughters fairies have somewhere to sleep and we can take it with us when we go for sleepovers to grandmas ❤️

Of course if you are making this fairy garden you may want some fairies to put in it. 😉
