Scavenger hunts are a perfect opportunity to get the kids outside. It opens opportunities for them to use their senses. Learning about the world around them and getting close to nature can inspire curiosity in children.

There are many different activities to do outside, especially when it comes to nature and our environment. Once the warm weather arrives we are always trying to find new trails to walk through.

Even on rainy days, kids love to get outside and explore! Muddy puddles and spotting worms is a real treat for little ones. ❤️

Scavenger hunts are a great way to go exploring and get close to nature. You can find all kinds of interesting treasures while out walking.

Even the smallest of items can excite kids when they go on a nature hunt. We love a good nature scavenger hunt. My son always used to light up when he’d find something on the list.

Even now he’s older, when we go with his little sister he’s all about discovering nature. We’ve found all kinds of bugs and different leaves.

The great thing about scavenger hunts are that there are no limits to what you can find. It also encourages kids to go for walks. If you have a child who is less enthusiastic about going for walks, like my daughter, having a purpose is more inviting lol!

Some amazing finds!!

Depending on where you go for your walks you can find some incredible things. We’ve found birds eggs, four leaf clovers, feathers, huge caterpillars and even found a wild animals skull once!! 😧TRUE STORY!!

Of course for hygiene reasons, always make sure you have hand sanitizer on hand when children are touching things outdoors. And always be aware of what they might put in their mouths. We find berries sometimes on our walks.

Getting close to nature can be amazing. The joy on the kids faces when they eventually get to hold a butterfly or find something they’ve never seen before.

Even spotting a squirrel or another animal can be exciting the first time. Getting kids close to nature teaches them about the world around us.

Children not only need to learn about the outdoors. We need to teach them to become considerate of small creatures and grow an appreciation for our world with kind hands. My son hates the thought of an ant being stood on! He is so considerate of creatures bless him. ❤️
