These super simple paper plate spider webs are a fun addition to our bottle top spiders. You can find the link for those below. Great for Halloween or when you are doing an ‘all about spiders’ theme.
Spiders are fun to learn about and even more fun to watch. Most of us shriek at the thought of having a spider in the house (myself being one of them lol) but did you know how useful spiders are to have around? They eat all those other unwanted guests that find their way in your home (or garden)
Fascinating Spiders!
Watching them build their webs can be fascinating! So much work goes into it.
If you haven’t already read The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle, it is a must read. My two loved me reading this to them when they were infants.
Making Your Own Web
These paper plate spider webs are fun and easy for kids to do. They help children to practice fine motor skills and use of scissors.
For your spider webs you will need;
- A Paper Plate
- Yarn
- Scissors
- Tape

Continue to wrap it around the plate until you have gone through all of the slits that you previously cut. Kids might want to wrap more around and that’s okay too. 😍

Once you have enough yarn wrapped around your plate, apply another piece of tape on the back to secure.
Spider Web is Done!
When your spider web is finished you can find a spider to put inside it. This can be a little toy spider. You can often get these around halloween time.
