Magnet Costume Characters

Halloween is a great time to dress up and it’s good for children to get some inspiration. These halloween magnet costume characters are great for preschool children. They can swap and switch costumes on the children. Great for fine motor skills and creativity.

These are a little time consuming to prep but once made they provide endless entertainment. Having your characters pre-cut and ready to stick onto the magnets can be half the work. I done ours in a couple hours but you can do it in stages.

For your halloween magnet costume activity you will need;

Sheets of magnet
Good sharp scissors
Glue stick
Our FREE printable halloween costume characters
Something magnetic to play on. We used a pizza tray!

Putting The Characters Together

When I started out making these characters, the children actually had bodies. However I slowly discovered that the costumes didn’t fit right onto the bodies. Also when you are using magnets you can only usually have one layer. If you’ve used magnet sheets before you will know what I mean. 😉

They turned out super cute in the end and my daughter had a blast playing with them. The hats do not stick completely to the character’s head but kids can still place them on top.

What I love about these magnet costume characters is that it provides children with creative thinking. Who doesn’t love dress up? Whether it be dressing up whilst in role play or dressing up dolls. These magnets put a different twist on ‘dress up’
