Halloween Letter Sounds

Gluing the letter sound cards onto card stock just made them more durable and easy for children to hold whilst placing the pegs. I used halloween colours to stick ours onto but you can use regular white card or whatever you have.

Learning Letters

Letter sound games are a great opportunity for children to become familiar with their letters, before they go to school. Some letters and sounds may be familiar to most children, such as the letters of their name. Some are more difficult.

These halloween letter sounds are made with fun halloween themed pictures. Children have to look at the picture and say what it is. They then have to try to work out what sound the object begins with.

Learning To Read

Once children can start to become familiar with letters it becomes a little easier to learn their sounds. This is how we eventually learn how to read.

It can be difficult to learn how to read unless we become familiar with these sounds.

I had my daughter say the word and point to the letter she thought made that sound. She loved the pictures of all the halloween items and shouted out what they were! Pictures always make learning more fun for preschool children.
