Five Little Pumpkins < Crafty-Mummy

Halloween is a fun time for little ones and doing their jack-o-lanterns is all part of the fun. Our five little pumpkins craft is a great little activity to incorporate with that famous halloween song for kids.

For our five little pumpkin craft you will need;

2 Paper plates
Paint or pastels
Small pegs
Our FREE printable pumpkin sheet
Cardstock
Glue
Scissors
Marker
A Stapler

You can purchase these small pegs at craft stores.

To make the background scene for your five little pumpkins you will need two paper plates. Your plates will join together facing opposite from one another. Cut one half of one of the plates so that you can see the other one behind it. Then staple them together like pictured.

Have your child paint or colour both plates. My daughter preferred using oil pastels but you can use paint if that’s easier for your little ones. We made the top part into a dark sky colour and the bottom part green for grass.

We also tried markers before pastels but the paper plate was glossy on one side so markers didn’t work too great.

Pastels and crayons work well.

Cut out your fence from our FREE printable. Depending on how big your paper plate is, your fence may need to be trimmed. Stick your fence to the top of the grass part.

Adding Your Characters

The witch and the moon will also need to be cut out, as well as the five little pumpkins. Because they are a little fiddly to cut, an adult may need to help with this part.

When cutting out the pumpkins, have some card stock ready to stick them onto. This will keep them from bending when attached to the pegs. Have your child draw faces onto their pumpkins to make them into jack-o-lanterns.
